UX Academy
Mobile First & Adaptive Design
Overview
I delivered a series of educational sessions as part of a UI/UX Academy program, focusing on Mobile First and adaptive design principles. The goal was to translate foundational concepts into practical, applicable knowledge for designers and product specialists.

Context
The academy brought together 12 speakers, each covering different areas of design. The first cohort was delivered as pre-recorded studio sessions, while the second cohort transitioned into a live format with Q&A, driven by unexpectedly high demand — participants began enrolling even before registration officially opened.
Challenge
The core challenge was to communicate foundational design principles in a clear, practical, and engaging way for a large audience. Beyond explaining concepts, it was important to ensure that participants could apply this knowledge in real-world scenarios.

After the first cohort, it became evident that the recorded format limited engagement. Participants needed interaction, clarification, and the ability to ask questions, especially when dealing with more complex topics.
Approach

I designed the presentations as visual-first narratives, structuring the content around real product scenarios. The focus was on demonstrating how Mobile First thinking influences design decisions and how adaptive systems scale across devices, rather than staying purely theoretical.

Particular attention was given to clarity — using diagrams, comparisons, and real UI examples to make complex ideas easier to understand and apply.

Following the first cohort, I incorporated participant feedback and direct conversations to refine the material. This resulted in a more balanced structure, where complex topics such as breakpoints were explored in greater depth, while foundational concepts were simplified for better accessibility.

The most significant improvement was transitioning from a recorded format to live sessions with interactive Q&A. This shift created a more dynamic learning environment, significantly increasing engagement and allowing participants to actively validate their understanding in real time.

Outcome & Impact
The program reached 400+ participants across two cohorts, evolving from a static format into a more interactive and engaging learning experience. The transition to live sessions led to higher engagement, stronger comprehension, and more meaningful participation.

The strong demand for the second cohort validated both the relevance of the topic and the effectiveness of the content delivery. More importantly, the sessions helped participants build a scalable design mindset, enabling them to confidently apply Mobile First and adaptive principles in their work.
